OUR MODEL

Bring Mobile Hope to Your Community

Our Model

Communities Served

Mobile home communities are commonplace throughout the country with 12 Million people living in manufactured housing across the U.S. In 2017, the Met Council reports that in the seven-county region nearly 37,000 people lived in the region’s manufactured homes in 2011 – 2015. In MN, there are approximately 700 mobile home parks with over 80 in the 7-county metro. The incidence of poverty for Twin Cities manufactured home residents is twice as high as that of residents of all metro housing.
Mobile Home communities are often located in suburbs of major metropolitan areas and rural
communities. These communities have higher concentrations of families living in poverty and face many of the same challenges of urban centers yet, they can become isolated and invisible with most of the available funding and resources going toward urban organizations and services.

Despite the resiliency, strength and close relationships that are formed in these communities, most residents have little access to resources and the added difficulty of lack of available transportation. With over 80 mobile home parks in the metro area and over 700 in the state of MN, the needs of these forgotten communities are large.

The Mobile Hope Model

Mobile Hope empowers individuals and transforms mobile home communities by leveraging the strengths of the diverse communities we serve. This is accomplished through the development of meaningful relationships between park residents and park owners, teachers, churches, and volunteers, and creates a sense of unity and hope within the community. Through the provision of programming and supportive services, the culture of the park and its residents is positively impacted, creating a safer and more supportive environment that is sustainable and more likely to lead to long-term goals being realized. This is all built on the foundation of our Christian faith in action.
